MOA indicated that a GR group of KCAOP&S was formed in 1928. However, state paperwork (annual reports) indicate that it was Incorporated on 9/11/58. Dr. Norman Keller assisted in the research of Organization Minutes of Meetings and information that showed late 1930s. Grand Rapids Osteopathic Hospital (GROH) was formed and opened in 1942 and was located on Lake Drive (a building still standing/operating currently). An additional hospital formed by DO physicians operated on South Division (1922 South Division). Those institutions eventually merged as a unifying force to create GROH in 1955 when the 1919 Boston Street location was built. A new location for a hospital and health village was built and opened in 2007 when the
new Metro Health Hospital location in Wyoming, MI. In 2017, Metro Health merged with University of Michigan hospitals to create U of M Metro Health.
